Screen Time Shouldn't Feel Like This

You’re trying to do the right thing.

You limit screen time.
You say no a lot.
You wonder if you should just cut it off completely.

But then real life happens.

They want to play.
You need a break.
And suddenly it is easier to say yes than to start another argument.

Still, that little voice lingers:

  • “Am I failing them?”

  • “Is this actually good for their brain?”

  • “What would other parents think?”

The Constant Back and Forth

Because it is not just about screens.

It is the constant push and pull.

They say:
“Why is this such a big deal?”

“All my friends are online.”

And you are left thinking:
“There has to be a better way.”

You do not want to be the parent who is always nagging.
Or always saying no.
Or always second-guessing.

And honestly?

You do not hate screen time.

You just wish it could be more meaningful.

What if the problem is not screen time...

but how it is being used?

A Better Way to Use Screen Time

Instead of just consuming content, your child learns how to create it.

In these one-on-one, live online sessions over Zoom, your child uses Canva to design projects based on what they are excited about.

No rigid curriculum.
No pressure.
No “this feels like school.”

Just guided, creative screen time that still feels like fun.

Why This Works

This is not a video they watch.

It is something they do.

Your child shares their screen over Zoom and designs in real time while getting guidance, encouragement, and ideas along the way.

That means:

  • They are not stuck figuring it out alone

  • They can ask questions the moment they get stuck

  • They build confidence by actually doing, not just watching

There is no pressure to get things right and no strict way of doing things.

Instead, your child gets space to:

  • try ideas

  • make their own choices

  • build confidence at their own pace

And because every project is based on their interests:

They stay engaged.
They feel ownership.
They start saying:
“Look what I made!”

Meet Christy

Hi, I’m Christy Kessens.

I work with kids who want to have fun on the computer but are not interested in anything that feels like school.

My goal is to make this feel easy, relaxed, and encouraging from the very beginning.

As your child creates, I am right there with them offering ideas, support, and encouragement. They can ask questions, try things out, and explore their own ideas without feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

There is no pressure to get things right.

Just a space where they can create, build confidence, and feel proud of what they make.

What Your Child Is Really Gaining

Yes, they are having fun.

But underneath that, something important is happening.

Your child is learning how to:

  • make their own decisions instead of waiting for instructions

  • turn ideas into something real they can see and share

  • think creatively and solve problems along the way

  • use digital tools they will recognize in school and future jobs

And the best part?

They are building these skills without pressure, without frustration, and without it feeling like school.

They are just creating and feeling proud of what they can do.

What This Looks Like for You and Your Child

Imagine this:

Your child is on the computer
and you do not feel guilty.

They are still having fun.
Still connecting.
Still being a kid.

But now they are also:

  • building confidence

  • creating something of their own

  • learning skills that actually matter

And the constant arguments?

They start to fade.

How It Works

Start with what they love
Your child chooses or gets help choosing a project they are excited about.

Create together, step by step
They design in real time with guidance, support, and encouragement.

Build confidence naturally
The more they create, the more comfortable and confident they become.
